Tip 2: Get both hemispheres balanced! - this means get a balance between your introverted and extroverted self.

Remember Tip 1: drink a minimum of 2-3 liters of water a day.

"When the breath wanders the mind also is unsteady. But when the breath is calmed the mind too will be still - and focused." (Hatha Yoga Pradipika)

Before you start with a breathing  practice to get into that inner balance you can start with a balancing pose. You can just stand on one foot and when you are reasonably balanced, raise your hands above the head as you breath in and bring them down again as you breath out.- You will experience a state of inner balance, not just the physical one. When you are balanced you are in a relaxed state which enables you to be busy and calm at the same time - you optimize your performance thus reducing your sick days per year and enjoy life more!

Here is a small, but shifting, practice for you to try:

  • Sit in a comfortable upright position. It can be on a chair or cross legged on the floor. Ensure that the body is upright and straight, the chest is wide open, yet relaxed and the shoulders are hanging loosely down, with the hands in your lap or on your knees. Your eyes are gently closed.
  • Bring your awareness to your nostrils and

PostHeaderIcon Massage - Tension Free Living

Massage in Bardon is different!! Pampering is good - but there is more!!!

Massage - a way towards tension free living

If you are having a sports massage, a therapeutic massage, a pregnancy massage or reflexology, our massage treatments always eliminate the tension that lies in the muscles when they are not being used as well as removing any blockages in the meridians, the energy channels within the body.

Knowing that our joints tend to hold onto a lot of toxins and also tend to loose their full range of movement quickly when not exercised, I got now a new product from Germany: "Arnica-Propolis-massage balm".

Propolis is a product from the bees which has a lot of anti inflammatory properties, that help reduce pains in joints and muscles as well as being healing for the body.

Yes, and of course there is the "Feel-Good" factor after a massage and feeling balanced!!

We can also come to your home if you don't want to drive to Bardon and experience a massage in our beautiful therapy room. Saturday and late Thursday and Friday evening appointments are also available. Call Shaktiprem  0427 681 978.

"... Our yesterdays are but dreams

    FOR HOME AND AT WORK:

    Tip 1 for 2012:

If we want brain health throughout life WE HAVE TO DRINK ENOUGH WATER EVERY DAY!!

Not drinking enough water - minimum of 2-3 liters per day,  means that body fluids fall below a certain level and the physiology begins to enter a toxic state. This throws off our vital electrolyte balance and eventually the balance of brain chemistry.

    PostHeaderIcon Increase Vitality, Decrease Stress

     B   A   L   A   N   C   E

This time of the year most of us are getting a bit overwhelmed by all the things we want to do before Christmas, before the end of the year approaches us!! Quite often we feel that there is too much to do in a short period of time which makes us feel stressed and we don't enjoy the time between now and Christmas much - sometimes it seems a time of the year to just get through... That's what I hear quite often from people, which made me think of tips I can give on how to create balance in this time of year, increasing vitality, productivity, a healthy friendly workplace as well as decreasing stress. This makes us, the workplace and people around us happier which results in better decision making skills at work and at home.

At your computer desk think of sideways stretching, lengthening the hamstrings and back.

And remember to give your eyes a rest!!!

It is always the three things from the yogic point of view: balance and stretch the body, balance the breath and practice relaxation. All that and more - like beautiful fresh organic food, fresh air and great company - is what is there for you on our last weekend retreat this year: 25th - 27th of November in the Ecolodge in the Glass House Mountains. http://yoga-health-retreats.com/
